Our Story
Seema & Ritu
Ours began in nursery. What started as a childhood friendship between Seema and Ritu eventually grew into a shared dream. United by a love for art, design, and India's rich heritage, they found themselves drawn to the timeless beauty of Lippan art from Kutch, Gujarat.
But they didn't just want to preserve the craft — they wanted to give it a place in today's homes. That vision became Ekam by Seri. "Ekam," meaning One, reflects the coming together of tradition, creativity, and skilled craftsmanship. "Seri," formed from the names Seema and Ritu, is a reminder that every creation begins with friendship, trust, and a shared passion.
Every piece we create is handcrafted by skilled artisans, thoughtfully blending traditional techniques with contemporary design. We believe beautiful décor should not only enhance a space but also celebrate the people, stories, and heritage behind it. At Ekam by Seri, we're not just creating décor — we're keeping an art form alive, one handcrafted piece at a time.
Our Journey
Mud-mirror relief art (Lippan) takes shape across the desert communities of Kutch and its neighbouring regions, reflecting light inside circular mud huts (Bhungas), cooling the rooms and creating beautiful illumination.
The complex skills of formatting geometric layouts, setting mirrors, and working with clay structures are handed down through family lineages across artisan communities, remaining a living tradition.
In 2024, Ekam by Seri began its journey with a passion for traditional Lippan art and handcrafted décor. We bring this timeless craft into contemporary homes through customised Lippan art, mirror mosaic and meaningful décor
We continue to celebrate traditional Lippan art by working with skilled artisans and creating handcrafted pieces for modern homes, customised spaces and meaningful gifting. The Process
Natural clay, traditional materials and mirrors are carefully sourced and prepared to create the foundation for each handcrafted Lippan art piece.
The clay relief is shaped and detailed by hand, creating intricate patterns and textures. No moulds, no shortcuts, each base is hand-built and left to dry slowly.
Our artisans set every piece by eye, a skill passed down through generations. Mirrors are carefully selected and placed by hand within the Lippan design. Each motif and mirror is positioned with precision to create the distinctive character of traditional mud and mirror art.
Each piece receives a careful hand-finish and quality check before it leaves our artisans. It is then thoughtfully prepared to reach its new home.

Our handcrafted pieces are easy to maintain. Keep them away from direct water, running liquids, and excessive moisture. To clean, simply wipe gently with a soft, dry cloth.
